Domestic Energy Performance Certificates
Serco is proud to announce that it is now registered to award Domestic Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs)
EPC’s are required for domestic properties whenever they are sold or let. In England and Wales, you must have an EPC when you are selling your property which includes information on the property’s energy usage and costs, as well as further recommendations on how potential buyers can save energy.
Serco are also now fully registered as Green Deal Energy Assessors and we are able to issue the Green Deal Advice Reports (GDARs). You will receive one of these certificates after we have visited your property and conducted the Green Deal assessment.
These Green Deal advice reports are an essential part of the RHI application process. Before anyone can take part in the RHI scheme, you will need to have a Green Deal Assessment carried out on your property, which Serco can provide. The Green Deal covers a range of energy-saving measures and gives you a better picture of which ones are suitable for you and your property.
Additionally, Serco is a MCS (Microgeneration Certified Scheme) registered company which means we are accredited to install air source heat pumps in domestic properties which allows the end user to claim the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI).
The RHI was set up to encourage the installation of energy-saving technology in domestic homes by offering money back for those who take up the scheme.
Serco is also a Green Deal Accredited Installer for Air Source Heat Pumps. Air pumps work by absorbing heat from the air outside and using that energy to heat radiators, underfloor heating or other heating technology in your home. Once installed, they practically run themselves and require very little maintenance.
